There was once a Mac, who was working quite hard helping it's owner plan her wedding. It's owner who was a basket case, spilled coffee all over him. Mr. Mac's screen promptly went black. The basket case of an owner was pretty much in tears. It was the last thing she could afford to replace. So she took it apart and put it in the blistering heat of her car, then began to pray her heart out for Mr. Mac. Two days later, Mr. Mac was back in business the only sign of his black out was a severe case of coffee breath.
Fast forward a couple months and we find another Mac in distress. This time it was the in-laws Mac, who we will refer to as Mac Jr. Mac Jr decided to give up the ghost after a certain weekend wedding. It was just too much for him. Who can blame him? He was taken to a Mac specialist in Utah, who said that they could bring him back to life but could not fix his brain which was not exactly good news. He was then taken to a Geek Squad located in Grand Junction in hopes of retrieving some rather important images from his brain and/or brain surgery. But they were unable to help either. The only hope of retrieving those important images was to send him off to a very special specialist. . . and it could cost $250-$1000 and beyond depending on his brain damage. Which was far too expensive. So two people began to pray that Mac Jr would turn on for just one more time so that the images could be retrieved. Two days after the prayers began Mac Jr turned on and has been running beautifully ever since. The images and info were retrieved, he was working quite well on his own brain but as a precaution a transplant was done. Now Mac Jr, works better than ever with his new brain, the total cost was $100.
Fast forward, two weeks and we find a soul lost and full of distress. It seemed hopeless to restore this soul. But many people prayed. This precious soul has been redeemed and is moving forward in the hope and knowledge that God is the only true fulfillment.
My God is big.
Unfortunately, I put Him in box. I look around me and see all kinds of problems and heartaches. I get so discouraged. I decide that these issues are far too big for God. Such blasphemy.
How can I forget that God knows the location and name of all the stars and planets? God could breathe and all that we know would be blown away.
How can I forget that this God who created all the vastness of space, knows each one of us by name, He cared so much for us- {tiny, tiny creatures} that He sent his only Son to redeem us.
He is no small God. He fits in no box. No matter how hard I try to stuff Him into one, He bursts out every time. Shame on me for trying/assuming.
He is a great big God... Yet he even knows the number of hairs on my head...
